What a way to spend Saturday afternoon! Terra Blanca Winery owner, winemaker, and host Keith Pilgrim will help you learn which food and wine combinations work and which do not – and WHY! Terra Blanca has won many awards, once you’ve been there you’ll know why.
You will hear about wines, sample wine and food combinations, and be able to ask all the questions you wish. And yes, when you find that special wine you will be able to purchase it right there and take some home to reinforce your experience and live the memories again.
Keith Pilgrim has had a fascination with wine production since early childhood. He worked in vineyards and wineries while going to school. His dream through high school and college (majoring in geology) was to build a winery. He spent over 10 years gathering information and tasting wines up and down the West Coast. The Red Mountain area won his heart and Terra Blanca was born in 1993 on 300 acres. The view is spectacular, the soil perfect, the climate urges the best out of the grapes.
The Red Mountain area is becoming well-known for its fantastic production of outstanding wines. This is a “must do” for all wine afficianados!

A WINEMAKER EXPLAINS PAIRINGS
Keith Pilgrim and Dale Sheppard of Leo’s Blue Moon pair up to provide practical, delicious guidance to anyone’s who’s ever secretly wondered “Why can’t I drink red wine with fish?” *
The seminar will begin with an overview of the differences in how red and white wine are made, and continue through the different varietals of each wine. Throughout the seminar, wines and an accompanying dish prepared especially to compliment the wine will be served. Keith will highlight different methods of cooking that enhance the relationship between a wine and paired food.
This seminar promises a lively combination of education, anecdotes, winemaker’s tips, great food and, of course, wine. Attendees will leave the seminar feeling confident and comfortable when they choose wines for their next meals, whether it’s a gourmet feast or a humble hamburger.
*HINT: You can. You may want to ask Keith what sorts of fish dishes will marry well with what sort of red wine.
