Another community service project of the Auburn Rotary Club:
|
Rotary Spray Park |
From Concept |
| In a jointly funded effort by the Auburn Rotary Club and the City of Auburn, the old cement wading pool at Les Gove Park has now been replaced by an imaginative a series of brightly colored circles on a cement pad sprouting water out of recessed holes and oddly shaped pipes with sprinkler-like names such as Silly Shower, Water Worm, Foam Shooter and Daddy Long Legs. Activated by buttons, it saves water when no one is using it. |
|
| One of the more intriguing toys is the Foam Gun, which
kids can activate to shoot an arc of foaming water across the
playground. For the little guys there is the Moppet Poppet, a pop jet
that shoots up a spritzer of water. For older kids there will be the Step N'Woosh, a gushing shower of water that comes out of a standing pipe.
"I fell in love with it when I first saw the pictures,'' said Trish Border, president of the Auburn Rotary and former City Council member. The water spray park is the perfect project for the the centennial year of Rotary International. |
