New Member Proposal Procedure

The Member = (Propose)

The Card = (Follow instructions on card) Proposed gives completed card to the Secretary (makes two copies)

Secretary emails to Membership Chair & Club Service Chair the appropriate information to read proposal at next Board Meeting

Board votes to accept proposal and to publish

Secretary publishes by email the proposed new member

After publication for thirty days, at next board meeting the board votes to accept new member for membership

Treasurer prepares invoice for accepted member including initiation, and prorate dues, then gives card and invoice to Club Service Chair

Propose notified and given updated card and asked to go ahead and ask proposed member if he/she would like to join. Propose can ask other members to assist proposer to answer questions, outline requirements, available committee assignments, out of pocket costs

Proposer finishes card details and returns it to the Secretary

Membership Chair prepares Temporary Red Badge with Classification

Formal introduction by Membership chair

Members designated by Club Service Chair assigned to mentor new member.

Avenues of Service Chair meet to discuss available subcommittees to assign new member

Secretary verifies name spelling, classification & orders blue badge (Blue Badge given to Club Service Chair)

New member packet prepared by Membership Chair and President informed. Membership Chair coordinates with proposer so that induction can take place

Club Service Chair and Membership Chair keep track of Blue Badge progress.

When Blue Badge requirements completed, Club Service Chair notifies President for Blue Badge Presentation

Requirements for Blue Badge

 

Committee Membership (see club service chair)

Act as Club Greeter for Two Weeks (see Sergeant-at-arms)

Attend a Board of Directors Meeting

Participate in Annual Auction

Serve on One or More Committees

Participate in at least two projects, such as:

A. River Clean-Up / Park Maintenance

B. Golf Tournament

C. Senior Dinner

D. Fisherman’s Breakfast / Derby

E. Make-a-Difference Day

Plus any Three of the Following:

F. Propose a new member

G. Maintain perfect attendance for three months

H. Contribute $100.00 or more toward Paul Harris Fellowship

I. Attend Club Assembly

J. Attend District Assembly

K. Attend District Conference

L. Attend another Rotary Club’s meeting

M. Attend a club Fireside

N. Play a lead role in a project
