Serving
the Maple Valley area community is something our Rotary club takes great pride
in. Here are a sample of the efforts we support:
Make A Difference Day -- This national day of doing good is co-sponsored
by the city of Maple Valley and our Rotary club. Each year, several hundred
citizens come together in late October to renovate, clean up, spruce up and fix
up our town.
Fishing Derby -- Each year, Maple Valley Rotary joins with the Chamber of
Commerce and the City for the Maple Valley Fishing Derby. Rotarians arrive the
night before the event to heat up the griddle and serve hundreds of hungry
fisherman breakfast from midnight until 9 a.m.
Senior Holiday Dinner -- This annual event is held at the Black Diamond
Community Center and provides a full holiday meal to senior citizens throughout
the Maple Valley and Black Diamond area. Rotary chefs, waiters, dishwashers and
entertainers fully staff this event for this deserving group.
Golf Tournament -- Joining efforts with the Maple Valley Community
Center, Maple Valley Rotary coordinates the annual Greater Maple Valley
Community Center Golf Tournament that raises funds for both organizations.
Shop With A Cop -- Working in conjunction with local law enforcement,
Maple Valley Rotary collects funds each year to provide hundreds of less
fortunate kids the opportunity to shop for their holiday presents. The children
are teamed up with a policeman for the shopping excursion that is held at the
Covington Wal-Mart in December.
